A few years back, a group of New Yorkers led by Improv Anywhere joined forces to ride the subway. The catch, they rode the subway without pants. A group of Denverites was inspired.
What: Denver No Pants Light Rail Ride
Where: Denver Light Rail Station – Join the e-mail list (on the right side of the homepage) or follow on Twitter for the official location announcement 24 hours before
There are basically two options:
1. For hardier souls, you can ARRIVE with no pants; or
2. You can arrive WEARING pants and remove said pants once aboard the lightrail. (That is what I’m going to do).
TIPS AND HINTS FOR PANTSLESS LIGHTRAIL FUN:
If anyone asks you why you’ve removed your pants, tell them that they were ‘getting uncomfortable’ (or something along those lines).
If questioned, you do not know any of the other pantsless riders. Tell folks that you ‘forgot to wear pants’ and yes, you are ‘a little cold’. Insist that it is a coincidence that others also forgot their pants. Be nice and friendly and normal.
For the remainder of the journey, sit in the car as you normally would. Read a magazine or whatever you would normally do.
You can wear fun underwear if you like, but nothing that screams out, “I wore this because I’m doing a silly stunt.” Wear two pairs of underwear if it makes you feel more comfortable. Don’t wear a thong or anything else that might offend people.
Light rail fare is $2.25. Please pay your fare as we don’t need people running afoul of the RTD regulations.
Our aim is to make people laugh, not piss them off.
Time: 12:00PM to 1:30PM
Place: 16th and Stout Light Rail Station
We will be splitting into two groups.
One will travel south to the Colorado Station and return to 16th and Stout. The other will travel south to Englewood Station and return to 16th and Stout.
